Friends of Milo

Welcome to Milo, Maine

Nestled in the heart of central Maine, our small town is a hidden gem rich in history and filled with outdoor opportunities. Explore our site, proudly hosted by the Friends of Milo, to discover everything our community has to offer.

The Friends of Milo (FOM) is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit created by residents passionate about honoring our past while building a vibrant future. We bring people together to preserve local history, beautify our surroundings, and enhance the quality of life for everyone in Milo.

Our vision is a thriving rural community where every resident feels welcome and engaged. Through non-partisan collaboration with local government, community groups, and neighbors, we turn shared aspirations into action.

Our Core Focus:

Preservation & Beauty: Honoring local history while keeping Milo clean and welcoming.

Community Engagement: Amplifying every voice in a spirit of unity and respect.

Local Action: Turning shared town goals into visible, positive results.

Our Recent Projects:

Town Information Kiosk: Built at the center of town to keep residents and visitors connected.

Ferry Road Landing Cleanup: Restored a beautiful spot for the community to enjoy the Piscataquis River.

Historical Plaques: Installed at Ferry Road Landing and the Milo Library to celebrate our town's legacy.

Why the beaver?: Along with the plaque at the library, we also gave a permanent home to the beaver carving that was generously donated for Milos bicentennial.
